From investments in public safety and wildfire prevention to prioritizing healthcare and amplifying survivor voices, we are delivering real results that put the people of the Central Coast first. I am proud to deliver these budget wins for programs and organizations that keep our region strong.

For more than 160 years, Yosemite has been protected for the public and for generations to come.

My colleagues in the California Legislature and I are calling on U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to immediately reject a proposed land exchange that would transfer land inside Yosemite National Park to a private developer.

Our national parks belong to all of us, not to private interests looking for commercial opportunity.

Year four in the books! The 2026 Legislative Session is officially complete, and I’m incredibly proud that our office successfully advanced eleven bills addressing important issues for the Central Coast through the Legislature and to the Governor’s desk. One has been signed into law, with ten more to go!

It’s late, and the Central Coast Caucus is going strong!

On the final day of the 2026 legislative session, we’re working through the final hours to deliver for the communities we represent.

Thanks to Governor Newsom for stopping by to say hello. Now, back to work. There’s still more to get done before the final gavel!

Our team joined State, Federal and local first responders, along with community leaders and members in Carmel Valley, today at Cachagua Community Park, for an update on the Timber Fire.

We continue to stay in close communication with local and State partners and will keep working to make sure our communities have the resources and support they need.

I’m honored to be selected as a recipient of Health Net’s 2026 Medi-Cal Champion Award!

This recognition reflects our shared commitment to making quality health care more accessible for Californians who rely on Medi-Cal.

Thank you to Katie Phillips, Director of Government Relations at Health Net, for presenting this award, and to everyone working every day to strengthen health care access across California.

Today, we celebrated two incredible investments in Capitola! Treasure Cove, the city’s first universally accessible playground, and the newly renovated Capitola Community Center.

Proud to have championed $1 million in state and local funding to help make these projects possible. As a former educator, these spaces are about more than infrastructure, they’re about creating places where every family can connect, play, learn and thrive. Congratulations City of Capitola and County Parks & Friends for making this happen!

Our first bill of the year is officially law!

I got to share the news with Sunnyvale Councilmember Alysa Cisneros that the Governor signed our Family-Friendly City Councils Act; a bill she helped to inspire!

This new law prevents city council members from automatically losing their seats if they are absent for more than eight weeks while on parental leave, helping new parents, especially mothers, remain in office.

It was a pleasure to welcome Dr. Tammie Helmuth, CEO, and Gina Silva, Senior Director of Mission Delivery, of Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast to our district office to discuss the newly released State of the Girl report and what girls across California need to succeed.

The visit was even more meaningful knowing Dr. Helmuth chose to spend part of her birthday advocating for the girls she serves. Thank you both for sharing your insight, your advocacy, and your commitment to creating more opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
