Great news for the Central Coast!

Last month, my colleagues from the Santa Cruz delegation and I voted to pass emergency legislation to provide critical dollars to distressed hospitals, in light of the cuts from HR 1.1 am thrilled that the Watsonville hospital is receiving much-needed state support that will keep serving our communities. Thank you to Speaker Rivas and the entire budget team for making this happen.

I was proud to recognize Paradise Beach Grille as my 2026 “Small Business of the Year” at the Small Business Development Centers hosted their annual CA Salute to Small Business Dinner and Award Ceremony.

Following the 2023 winter storms, I vividly remember visiting and witnessing firsthand the damage, the debris, and the uncertainty facing this beloved local business.

What we see today is a full rebuild driven by resilience, heart, and an unwavering commitment to the community. Paradise Beach Grille has come back stronger, continuing to serve as a staple of Capitola’s local economy and helping foster a vibrant, thriving coastal community for residents and visitors alike.
