I’m excited to announce Phase 3 of Meadows Park will open on Tuesday, June 30th!

This phase includes 4 dedicated pickle ball courts, 1 full court basketball court and 1 tennis court. Thank you to our YPCE - City of Sacramento staff for all of their hard work!

was honored to attend the 75th Anniversary of Broadway Sacramento this evening and celebrate the enduring legacy of this cultural institution. We enjoyed the dress rehearsal of Frozen in the iconic round theater.

was happy to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Camellia Village Apartments located in downtown Sacramento. This project represents over 18 months of collaboration and hard work that has resulted in 44 units of permanent transitional housing for our most vulnerable constituents.
Congratulations to all of the partners, including Anthem Blue Cross, Bay Area Community Services, Sacramento City, Sacramento County, and the CA Dept of Health Care Services for helping this tremendous local housing resource come to fruition!

Happy fifth annual California State Parks Week! took a short trip from SD8 to visit the South Yuba River State Park and cool off on this warm weekend.

California has 280 beautiful state parks: help us celebrate them and appreciate those who visit and protect them.

Did you know that you can rent a parking pass from your local library thanks to the Outdoor Access for All Initiative? California 4th graders are also eligible for the CA State Park Adventures Pass, which waives day-use fees to 19 state parks for a full year. would like to thank the team at the Sutter Health University for the invitation to the launch of their new Mobile Simulation Lab. This incredible training resource represents years of work and collaboration toward providing nursing staff with one of the most advanced medical learning environments in the country.
Kaitlynn Thurman and her colleagues will be touring multiple Sutter sites in the coming months to demonstrate their mobile curriculum across emergency care, pediatric services, and more. Congratulations to everyone at Sutter Health, and we can’t wait to see your team take full advantage of this amazing training tool for new nurses!
