🚴10 Years of the Brisbane City SES Bike Team🚴‍♀️

Did you know Brisbane City SES Unit has a specialised bike team?

The team was established in 2016 by a group of enthusiastic members to provide high-mobility and rapid response where vehicles can't go.

This is how they've supported the community over the past 10 years:
🔎Land & Urban Searches: Working alongside Queensland Police to quickly cover ground during missing person searches.
🎉Major Event Support: Including Riverfire and New Year's Eve, supporting with public safety.
🤝Joint Agency Support: Working collaboratively with our partner bike teams at St Johns Ambulance and Queensland Police.

Next time you see the team out and about, give them a massive wave and say thank you! 🧡

🪚 Another 12 operators ready to answer the call!

This weekend, 12 new chainsaw operators successfully completed their training, adding another valuable capability to our region.

When storms strike and trees come down, chainsaw operators play a critical role in helping communities recover—clearing access to homes, restoring egress routes, and helping our crews reach those who need assistance.

A huge thank you to our trainers, assessors and participants who gave up their weekend to build these skills. We look forward to seeing our newest operators putting their training into practice and helping keep Queensland communities safe.

🤩WOW!🤩

How does Brisbane Region celebrate Wear Orange Wednesday?

We go "All Out Orange" and come together in one of our three Units to celebrate with dinner, cake and a side of FUN!

This year we gathered together at Deception Bay Depot, with members attending from all three Units. Our best dressed this year went to our three traffic cones!

Thank you Deception Bay State Emergency Service - SES for your hospitality and Banchetto Caterers for the great food.

A massive shout out to all our volunteers across the Region. WOW is to celebrate you and all that you do for the SES and our communities.
