Today is R U OK? Day and a reminder that a simple conversation could change a life. Check in on your mates at site, today and every day.

This year’s message, 'Ask R U OK? Any Day', highlights the importance of regular check-ins with the people around us, including at work.

Our explosives inspectors have shared their unique POV of Riverfire. 📸

More than two tonnes of fireworks lit up Brisbane’s skyline on Saturday as 500,000 people watched on.🎆

A big thanks to all the inspectors who work hard to help ensure major firework events like Riverfire are safe for everyone.

A detonation at a mine site is expected. Necessary, even.

A detonation in the community is not.

Last financial year, 1642 detonators were recovered from the community.

Preventing unauthorised access to explosives is a regulatory priority for RSHQ because keeping detonators in authorised possession helps ensure they remain a tool for industry, not a risk to the community.

🎆 Riverfire prep - Behind the scenes 🎆

With two tonnes of fireworks soon to go off, our explosives inspectors have been busy checking they’re safe and ready to go.

We’ll also be on barges, bridges and buildings during the spectacular to make sure the 33,000-strong fireworks display is enjoyed safely.

Happy Riverfire, Brisbane!

A worker has died and another has been injured in a serious incident that occurred at a Central Queensland coal mine earlier today.

Preliminary information indicates two vehicles collided at the site early this morning.

RSHQ has deployed investigators and coal inspectors to site and is working closely with Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service to respond to the incident.

Our thoughts are with the worker’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
