Great news! Michigan is receiving $25 million for technology upgrades at rural hospitals to better connect patients with their doctors. It’s part of the investment I secured for Michigan by creating the Rural Health Transformation Program. I’m eager to see this funding expand access for everyone who calls rural mid-Michigan home.

Ashley and I are praying for everyone across mid-Michigan impacted by today's severe storms. Thank you to the crews working tirelessly to clear debris and restore power.

High winds, hail socked southeast Michigan, leaving power lines and trees down and thousands without power.

Health insurance companies should never rely on AI to decide if a treatment is medically necessary. That’s why this week, Rep. Greg Landsman and I introduced the bipartisan Doctors Not AI Act to make sure doctors are the ones deciding what care you and your family need.

It’s been 81 years since Japan formally surrendered to the United States and its Allies, bringing an end to World War II. We will never forget the service and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation who defended our freedom and made that victory possible.

Almost every House Democrat just voted against keeping nine justices on the Supreme Court. Our judiciary should never be a pawn in a political game, but Democrats made it clear they want to pack the court for partisan gain.

The Republican-led resolution, which requires two-thirds support in the House and the Senate, is a response to increasing openness among Democrats to expand the court.

In Congress, I’ve been leading the charge to revive the American Dream and make housing more affordable. At Eaton Community Bank, it was great to meet with banking leaders from across mid-Michigan for a discussion about additional steps we can take to help people buy a home and put down roots in our communities.

This summer has been packed full of great meetings with local residents at their workplaces and in their communities. My conversation with Shiawassee County business leaders was just one of the many opportunities I’ve had to hear input and feedback directly from people in walks of life across mid-Michigan.

VERNON TWP. — Rep. Tom Barrett (R-East Lansing) visited Vernon Township business Great Lakes Fusion Tuesday, Aug. 26, where he engaged representatives from local business during a roundtable discussion.

Clinton Transit’s blue buses get local residents across the community to go to work, attend a doctor’s appointment, or shop at the grocery store. I voted for the BUILD America 250 Act to strengthen support for transit, and I appreciated the chance to meet with the folks who help keep Clinton County connected every day.

Lake Trust Credit Union in Brighton helps people in the community save for their future and lends resources when people need them to buy a home or launch a small business. Thanks to the team for having me at your office and taking time to meet. I’ll continue working in Congress to lower costs and help more families achieve homeownership.

Michigan engineers design the plans necessary to fix our roads and bridges and make sure they’re built to last. Thanks to the American Council of Engineering Companies for joining me to share about your work to improve infrastructure and discuss how we can continue improving transportation in our communities.
