The Company K Michigan 1st Sharp Shooters highway on M22. I am honored to have a small part of this road naming that recognizes a group of brave soldiers that served in the Civil War before they were citizens. These heroes should have been given their place in history long before now. Congratulations to my friend Jack O’Malley who brought this oversight to the attention of the state and should have his name on the bill signing. Jack O’Malley, Sen. John Damoose and myself working together got it over the line. Thank you Lisa Trombley for attending this important event. Thank you to Scott Swander for his leadership.

State Rep. John Roth this week voted to advance an affordability plan aimed at easing financial pressures on Michigan residents. “People across this state are working hard, but too many feel like they’re falling behind as everyday expenses keep climbing,” said Roth (R-Interlochen). “Michigan...

For those of us in northern Michigan, we know what this season was like, feet of snow dumped in one storm, flooding and critical infrastructure down for a week or more. Families in northern Michigan need some relief. And taking the burden of extending the school year is the most common sense thing we could do.

State Reps. Ken Borton, Cam Cavitt, Joseph Fox, Mike Hoadley, and John Roth today celebrated the successful House vote on a bill that would excuse school days that were cancelled across Northern Michigan due to severe storms in March. House Bill 5797, introduced by Rep. Parker Fairbairn, would allow...

Roth, who serves as chair of the subcommittee, put forward a comprehensive plan that promotes appropriate spending for common-sense initiatives that put Michigan families...
