John Roth is the 104th District State Representative in the Michigan House of Representatives

Roth attended Northwestern Michigan College and received his associate’s degree in 1989. Following college, Roth’s campaign website states he began working in the Traverse City tourism industry. Roth served on the Grand Traverse County Parks & Recreation Board from 2014 to 2019 and served as board president for four of those years. Roth is an active member of the Grand Traverse County Republican Party. He currently lives in Traverse City with his wife and two daughters.

Thank you to everyone in the community for coming out to support our veterans returning from their Honor Flight to DC. The Veterans are so moved by the welcoming home they received from all that attended. The Veterans Coalition handed out 200 American flags and there were far more people than flags.

As the Chair of the MDHHS budget on Human Services I appreciate providers inviting us to discuss their services and concerns. I recently toured Eagle Village with Director Amy Epkey and the team that help our most vulnerable children. There are a lot of issues with DHHS but, on this day we heard of good communications and some changes that providers were asking for.

I was able to attend the Addiction Treatment Services Art of Recovery event a few days ago. I was so impressed with the audience support. Some of the people in the audience shared how the organization has been so helpful in their recovery. Jim and his family shared their story of recovery that brought them to the area. Paula Lipinski, the CEO is leading a team of recovery professionals that are providing hope for families with addiction.
