On today’s Friday’s in the Field, we’re looking back on an amazing summer here at Genesee County Parks! Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, so before we look ahead to fall, let’s look back at an amazing season!

From busy weekends at Crossroads Village, Day Out With Thomas, the Sloan Auto Fair, and Curious at Crossroads, to foam parties, movie nights, and rock climbing at the campground, there was always something happening! For-Mar was busy too with DNR programs, bugs, butterflies, day camp, and more!

We’re so grateful for our amazing staff and the community that makes our parks so special!

Enjoy the holiday weekend and soak up those last bits of summer!

Find a little time to unwind outdoors!

FREE Yoga in the Park continues at Chevy Commons through the end of September. Join us for an evening yoga class surrounded by nature, open to all ages and abilities.

Meet in the parking lot at Chevy Commons. Yoga mats will be available while supplies last.

Check out these upcoming FREE programs at Mott Park Recreation Area and Chevy Commons, including fishing, archery, wilderness survival, geocaching, live animals and more.

All programs are free, open to all abilities and require no registration.

Head over to Crossroads Village for Genesee County Day from 12–9 PM as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Crossroads Village and America 250!

Enjoy the celebration and stick around for the fireworks at dusk🎆

On today’s Fridays in the Field, we’re talking all about the Village! Tomorrow marks our big 50th anniversary celebration of the opening of Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad. While the Village originally opened on July 4, 1976, we wanted to make this year’s celebration our big end-of-summer event honoring America 250 and 50 years of Crossroads Village!

Best of all, Genesee County residents can enjoy FREE village admission throughout the day from 12- 9 pm!

We’ll be celebrating with an opening ceremony, time capsule, Liberty Tree dedication, live entertainment, special train robberies, a HUGE fireworks display at dusk, and so much more. We can’t wait to celebrate this incredible milestone with our community!
