Makayla and Sandy arrived early at the BBBS Community Block Party on 6/6/26 to meet each other before starting their first outing! 🎉

They both started off a little quiet and unsure what to talk about, but after some guidance from their Case Manager, who asked them questions, Sandy felt more comfortable asking Makayla and her mom things to try to get to know them. ✍️

This match has a bright future ahead with a lot of artistic interests in common and places that Makayla has never been, that Sandy wants to introduce her to...like the Longway Planetarium! 🌌

Please help us welcome Big Sister Grace and Little Sister Ashani to the Big Brothers Big Sisters family!

Grace and Ashani quickly discovered a shared interest in staying active and having fun. As they discussed ideas for their first outing, Ashani's excitement grew when Grace suggested pickleball, making it an easy choice for their first adventure together.

Grace is passionate about helping youth grow and reach their goals, while Ashani is a bright and kind young person who enjoys learning, loves math, and dreams of helping others in the future. Together, they are beginning a mentoring relationship built on encouragement, shared interests, and new experiences.

We are excited to see Grace and Ashani hit the pickleball court and begin creating memories that will help ignite the power and promise of youth.

Leggera Technologies, LLC was founded in 2014 by Nathan Sanko and Tom Darnell to focus on light products. The company started in a garage in Kansas, with thixomolded magnesium as its foundational technology.

A company born out of a challenge to make a large, molded part out of magnesium. At the request of the FCA advanced development team, they designed and built the first “large scale” thixomolded component, the Jeep Wrangler swing gate – something that was previously believed to be impossible.

This successfully produced application grew into a full scale production company and supplier operating from two locations in Michigan. They now offer comprehensive in-house production capabilities, including part design & engineering, thixomolding, machining, powder coating, assembly and shipping.
