On April 30th and May 1st, eleven Xenia-GCCC FFA Members attended the State FFA Convention in Columbus, Ohio. Students heard an inspiring message from Brad Hurting, attended the career show and expo, and toured the Wendy's Culinary Innovation Center. The highlight of the trip was Emma Slone receiving her State FFA Degree, the top honor awarded by the Ohio FFA Association. Each year less than 2% of FFA members across the state earn this degree and in the nearly 90 year history of the Xenia FFA Chapter, less than 150 individuals have earned their State FFA Degree.

Our Welding & Metal Fabrication, HVAC/R, Electrical Wiring, and Construction Technology students recently had the opportunity to attend Allied Construction Industries’ Construction Career Days — one of the largest construction career exploration events in the nation!👏

Students explored hands-on activities, connected with industry professionals, and learned more about the many career pathways available within the skilled trades and construction industries. Experiences like these help students see the real-world impact of the skills they are developing at GCCC while building valuable industry connections for their futures.

The guilty party was none other than Mrs. Covey — with assistance from Officer Margioras. 👀
