We are a client-choice food pantry serving 307 households in South Hadley and Granby, providing 22,000 lbs of food every month. All information is confidential.

Any resident of South Hadley or Granby is welcome! The pantry is client-choice, providing nutritious food, including dairy and fresh produce as well as personal care products, household products, and dog and cat food to approximately 145 families and individuals each month. Clients may visit the pantry every two weeks. Proof of residence in South Hadley or Granby is required, but there is no means test. The Food Pantry also assists clients in accessing government programs such as SNAPS, (formerly Food Stamps) and WIC, etc, a program for pregnant women and their children under the age of five.

Volunteers needed for Mobile Food Bank sites

OCT_Mobile Food Bank of Western Massachusetts
The Food Bank is seeking volunteers for two mobile sites in Springfield and one in Greenfield! Mobile Site Volunteers help the site coordinator and truck driver arrange and display the produce prior to the distribution.

Volunteers also help set up distribution tables, distribute food to participants, and help clean up trash after distribution ends. The distribution is outside year-round so please come prepared and dressed appropriately for the weather.

Western Massachusetts, it's time to rise to action for the Quabbin!

For generations, our communities have stewarded one of the Commonwealth's most precious natural resources. Now, we must come together once again to protect its future.

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) is seeking approval to withdraw an additional 20 million gallons of water per day from the Quabbin, without identifying which communities would receive that water.

The Interbasin Transfer Act requires applications to identify the recipients of proposed water transfers, and we cannot allow it to be subverted.

I've made my position clear: Any additional withdrawal must undergo a full, transparent, community-specific review.

Now, we need your voices, too!

The public comment period has been extended until October 28, and I'm calling on residents across Western Massachusetts to make their voices heard.

Urge the Water Resources Commission to reject advance approval of this request without a complete review. Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to speak up, too.

The church that houses the pantry will have this great concert before Thanksgiving. Please share.

We have a treat for you to start the holiday season. We are excited to announce that New England's premiere Eagles Tribute Band, "7 Bridges Road", will be playing on Saturday, November 21st at 7pm at 30 Carew Street, South Hadley. 7BR is a five-piece band presenting the much-loved music of the Eagles in an all-acoustic format, allowing the vocal and instrumental talents of the band to shine. Our 190 year old building has fabulous acoustics, and we can't wait to hear 7 Bridges Road marvelous sound! You'll also hear interesting and amusing stories about the songs, the writers, and about the members of 7BR. For 10 years, the band has played all over New England to audiences of several hundred to as many as 9000. But regardless of how large or small the venue or the audience is, the players put their "all" into every show creating a legion of repeat fans.
