Congratulations to this year’s Joseph W. Taylor Volunteer of the Year Award winner, Ray Carillon! 🎉👏
Ray has been a huge part of the South Hadley community for many years, and we are so excited to recognize him for all he has done for our kids, families, and town.
Since 2010, Ray has dedicated countless hours to coaching youth sports, including soccer, baseball, and softball. Many seasons, he has coached multiple teams at once, often coaching all three of his children at the same time, just to make sure every child had a chance to play. Over the years, he has been involved with Roots travel soccer, Boys and Girls Suburban Basketball, JLS Baseball, indoor soccer, spring soccer, Mickey Mantle, and Legion baseball. He is always willing to step up whenever help is needed, including volunteering today to assist the high school softball team.
Ray has also served on the Recreation Commission since 2017 and is currently the chairperson, helping guide and support programs that benefit so many families in our community. He is also the President of the South Hadley Baseball Committee, where he helps raise funds to support youth and high school baseball.
Beyond sports, Ray has volunteered his time chaperoning school field trips and events, always finding more ways to give back. He and his wife, Kristen, have built a wonderful family in South Hadley with their three children, Nate, Noah, and Violet. Kristen has been an important part of Ray’s volunteer journey, whether coaching alongside him or helping behind the scenes.
Ray’s dedication, generosity, and love for this community truly make him deserving of this honor. Please join us in congratulating Ray Carillon, this year’s Joseph W. Taylor Volunteer of the Year Award winner! ❤⚽⚾🏀🥎👏
