The scariest thing this Halloween isn’t ghosts or vampires...it’s the flu! The flu virus spreads quickly and easily and can be especially dangerous for young children. The AAP recommends that all children receive an annual flu vaccine starting at 6 months old to help prevent serious illness and protect communities. Talk with your pediatrician if you have any questions about the flu vaccine.

Philly Joy Bank was covered by CNN!

“It gave a lot of relief because we didn’t always have to think ‘survival,’” she said. “That's what we were used to. That’s what we were counting on. It was nice to kind of stretch that out a little bit and not have those anxieties all the time.”

Philly Joy Bank gives expectant mothers in Philadelphia neighborhoods with high infant mortality rates $1,000 a month. One mom says it brought relief from constantly thinking about “survival.”
