Happy March Fifth! A day that's quite literally all about love. It's the day back in 2004 when we were married in San Francisco. That "Winter of Love" when couples from seemingly everywhere stood in line for the right to marry. It was love, that plain and simple.

We went on to create The March Fifth Fund to provide financial support of organizations that advocate for equality on behalf of our LGBTQ+ communities.

For the past several years we have concentrated on building the Fund's cash reserves, while reorienting our focus for future charitable endeavors and gifts.

For example, despite recent marriage equality victories, we know that 39% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting su***de in the past twelve months and 71% reported feeling sad or hopeless for at least two weeks in the past year.

We can so much better. If you're able, please consider a tax-deductible contribution to the March Fifth Fund. Link in bio 🙂

Love is love is love. Jon & Darrell, March Fifth Fund Founders

It makes sense that there's so much focus on what's happening in Indiana right now, but do you know that there are 29 states, including Indiana, where an employee can be fired just for being gay?

The new normal in Indiana. Are you outraged?

In a private ceremony this morning, Indiana Governor, Mike Pence, signed The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which allows any individual or corporation to cite its religious beliefs as a defense when sued by a private party – opening the door to widespread discrimination among business owners who deny service to LGBT customers.

A religious objection bill that opponents say could legalize discrimination against g**s cleared the Indiana Senate on Tuesday, positioning the state to become the first to enact such a change this year ahead of an expected U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage.

Although the Supreme Court in 2013 ruled that a key portion of DOMA was unconstitutional, state bans on the marriages of same-sex couples still prevent equality under the law.

These laws impose countless burdens and indignities on gay and le***an couples and their children, and they serve no legitimate governmental purpose.
