Artblog had the opportunity to attend the press preview of 'Cecily Brown: Themes & Variations' at the Barnes yesterday. Cecily Brown’s work at the Barnes is where seeming chaos meets beauty and intention. It was such a special opportunity to hear about how she continually challenges herself- whether it be solely focusing on one figure or the use of lines- and how this has driven the evolution of her work.

Head to the Barnes between March 9th and May 25th to see Cecily Brown's amazing work!

21 Years of Art, Community, and Growth

This year, The Artblog turned 21—a milestone we couldn’t have reached without you, our passionate and engaged community of readers, listeners, and supporters. Together, we’ve made art accessible and championed creativity in Philadelphia and beyond.

In 2024 alone, we published 207 articles spotlighting underrepresented voices, diverse perspectives, and the vibrant art scenes that make our region unique. We’re also approaching an exciting milestone: nearly 300 podcasts featuring thought-provoking conversations with artists, curators, and cultural leaders shaping the world of art.

Our event site, ArtblogConnect.org, is thriving! With nearly 300 venues and 1000 events posted since its launch just 18 months ago, it has become a vital resource for connecting artists, audiences, and organizations across the community.

But we’re not stopping here. Your support helps us continue to grow and innovate, ensuring that art remains a driving force for connection, conversation, and change.
