Thames River Family Program / Thames River Community Service Thames River Community Service, Inc. For over 30 years, this agency has worked to support the movement to end homelessness throughout New London County.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering safe housing and support services, empowering homeless families and individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. The mission of Thames River Community Service, Inc. is to provide safe housing with support services by creating an environment in which homeless families and individuals can pursue goals for self-sufficiency and control over their lives. This mission is ac

complished by promoting family and individual wellness, empowering families to develop an achievable plan for successful, independent living, and to acquire life skills. In our Thames River Family Program, young parents ages 18-24 who are homeless, with their children, will reside in a well maintained, secure building, work closely with staff to develop goals and strengthen important life skills, arrange safe, quality child care, and maintain housing stability upon leaving TRFP. Our Transitional Housing Program will provide homeless families with disabilities with safe, affordable housing units throughout New London County, rental subsidies, comprehensive and individualized services, and weekly in-home case management services.

Last night at our Seeds of Hope Fundraiser, we were deeply honored to receive a proclamation from Mayor Singh and the Norwich City Council.

A special thank you to Sarah Fox, CEO of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness, and to our 2026 Tom Hyland Community Service Award Honoree Justin Burrows who continues to exemplify compassion and empathy toward vulnerable populations.

We also extend a special thank you to Luke Hajdasz from WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News for hosting our wonderful event.

We also extend an extra special thank you to a former resident for courageously sharing their inspiring journey from homelessness to success.

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraiser and our mission to bring hope, housing, and opportunity to the young adults that we serve.
