I spent Father's Day at Nature's Art Village Dinosaur Place! It was the perfect day to be out on the course with healthy competition! The fun didn't stop there. We then went into the Shops to cool off and gaze at the massive inventory of geodes, stones, jewelry, and so much more! It's one of those places you have to check out for yourself!

CONGRATULATIONS!
The museum board, volunteers, and the Friends of Franklin Heritage Sites invited GNACC and Friends to todays ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Woodward Gardens at Ashbel Woodward Museum.

"The seeds of the museum gardens were sown long before the first plant ever touched the soil. For nearly a decade, museum supporters, volunteers, and board members nurtured a dream: a dream of creating a living landscape that would extend the museum’s focus on historic interpretation to the outdoor spaces that were integral to the daily life of the Woodward Family.

We envisioned a space where visitors could step back in time to experience the plants used daily for cooking and medicine by those who lived in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as a quiet space where guests could relax, rest, and reconnect with the beauty of nature.
Initial donations for the garden project came from those who longed to honor and remember Kathy King, a devoted museum volunteer, board member, and dear friend to so many.

Soon, generous donations from numerous other key supporters helped turn what was once a small seed of a dream into a fully bloomed reality. We are forever grateful to each individual and family whose self-less contributions of time and resources made the Woodward Gardens possible.

They invite you to experience the goodness of the gardens firsthand. As you spend time there, you will be able to allow yourself to travel back to a time where plants provided nourishment for both body and soul, and learn more about the individual plants by scanning the QR codes on the various plant markers.

Sunflowers for Wishes Buttonwood Farm.

The 23rd Annual Sunflowers for Wishes at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold will be in full bloom from July 18-26!

More than 300,000 sunflowers are expected to bloom this year and will be available for purchase! Cut your own stems for $3 per flower and make a beautiful bouquet to take home, with all proceeds to benefit Make-A-Wish® Connecticut.

And don’t forget to purchase one of Buttonwood’s own famous sunflower ice cream cones, made right there on the farm!

Rose Arts is a call to the community to celebrate Norwich today and tomorrow. What began as a beloved local tradition continues to bring together thousands of patrons, partners, artists, performers, businesses, and volunteers who answer that call each year.

The festival has returned stronger than ever, filled with art, music, culture, creativity, and community spirit.
