This week, Jackson County proudly recognizes and celebrates National EMS Week as we honor the dedicated men and women of Jackson County Emergency Medical Services. 🚑💙

Day and night, 365 days a year, Jackson County EMS provides lifesaving prehospital emergency care to our citizens and visitors. With nine strategically located ambulances and two quick response vehicles across the county, along with a dedicated team of paramedics, EMTs, supervisors, trainers, and support staff, these professionals are always ready to respond when our community needs them most.

Jackson County is fortunate to have an outstanding EMS team made up of highly trained providers who are committed to delivering advanced emergency medical care with compassion, professionalism, and excellence. Their work often begins on someone’s hardest day, and their dedication makes a difference in countless lives across our community every single day.

🚧 Road Closure Notice – Savage Road Bridge

Beginning Monday, June 8, the bridge on Savage Road will be closed for repairs.

Please use the detour route shown on the attached map to safely navigate around the closure. The repair work is expected to take approximately one week, weather permitting.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as Jackson County works to improve our road infrastructure.

This week, we are proud to celebrate National Public Works Week and recognize the hardworking men and women of Jackson County Public Works!

Our Roads Division works year-round to maintain more than 1,200 lane miles of county roads. From mowing rights-of-way and replacing road signs to patching potholes, grading dirt roads, cleaning ditches, filling edge ruts, and picking up litter, their work helps keep Jackson County safe and moving forward.
In 2025, our Roads Division completed numerous projects to improve transportation throughout the county, and they are continuing that momentum in 2026 with several projects already underway and many more planned.

Our Transit Division also plays a vital role by providing dependable and convenient transportation services to residents across Jackson County.
We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our Public Works team. Thank you for all you do to serve our community and for being an important part of !

Jackson County Government offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

On this day, we honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

County offices will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26. We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend!

The picnic was a great opportunity to step away from the office, enjoy some fellowship with coworkers, and celebrate the incredible team that keeps Jackson County running each and every day. đź’™

Employees enjoyed a delicious lunch, a sweet treat, and a little friendly competition with a few games of co****le. 🎯🏆

Please join us in congratulating Jackson County’s Finance Director, Alisha Gamble, and Matthew Hailey, City Manager for the Commerce, on earning their Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

The Certified Public Manager program is a nationally recognized, 300-hour leadership development program designed to help public sector professionals strengthen their management and leadership skills and better serve their organizations and communities.

We are incredibly proud of Alisha for this outstanding accomplishment and grateful for the dedication and leadership she brings to Jackson County each and every day.
