🌳Park Closure for Forest Stewardship & Restoration 🌳

Lincoln Brick Park will be closed starting today, Tuesday, October 27th, 2026, as we move forward with our Forest Stewardship Plan.

đź“… We anticipate the park will be closed for approximately 2 weeks. For the most up-to-date information on closures and operations, please follow Eaton County Parks on social media.

This project is part of our long-term Forest Stewardship and Restoration Plan. Recent windstorms have damaged trees throughout Fox Park and Lincoln Brick Park, affecting tree health and creating potential hazards for park visitors.

The goal of this work is to:
🌱 Remove trees that are unlikely to survive
🌳 Create space for new tree growth
🌿 Develop a more diverse and resilient forest
🌾 Plant native species suited to these parks
🌱 Help combat invasive species

These efforts will help support the long-term health of our forests while creating healthier, safer park environments for years to come.

On October 20, 2026, a 42-year-old Clarksville man was found unresponsive in his cell at the Eaton County Jail of an apparent su***de. Life-saving efforts were initiated, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The incident is under active investigation. All information related to the incident will be provided to the Medical Examiner to assist with the investigation and determination of the official cause of death.
Out of respect for the family and the ongoing investigation, we ask that their privacy be respected as they grieve. We recognize that losing a loved one under these circumstances is especially painful, and our hearts go out to everyone affected.
The Sheriff’s Office also recognizes the impact this tragedy may have on the staff members who work each day to care for and supervise those in our custody. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this loss and resources will be made available to them.
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones. Every person who comes through our doors is someone’s son or daughter, parent, or friend,” said Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich. “We are committed to treating those in our care with dignity and to helping them find a path toward a better future. This loss is truly heartbreaking.”
If you or someone you know is struggling with or has thoughts of su***de, help is available 24/7, regardless of your circumstances. Call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, or chat at chat.988lifeline.org.
