Eaton County Road Commission Your Local Road Professionals

The Eaton County Road Commission was established in 1912 by resolution of the County Board of Supervisors and charged by law with the duty “to keep in reasonable repair, so that they shall be reasonably safe and convenient for public travel, all county roads, bridges, and culverts that are under their care and control, and which are open to public travel.” State law also requires the Road Commission to permit and regulate certain activities in road right of way, authorizes the Road Commission to set reasonable standards for adopting new roads into the county system and to enforce state restrictions on vehicle size and weight on county roads.

Supporting Families When Tragedy Strikes

The recent loss of one of our own has been heartbreaking for our ECRC family and our community. It’s a reminder that behind every road crew member and construction worker is a family, friends, and loved ones who want them to come home safely at the end of the day.
We’d like to share information about Construction Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families who have lost a loved one in a construction-related incident. They provide financial assistance, grief counseling, and scholarship opportunities to help families navigate an unimaginable loss.
Their mission is one that hits close to home for us, and we’re grateful that organizations like this exist to support families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
If you would like to help Construction Angels continue their work, donations are welcome. Every contribution helps them provide support and resources to families facing the unimaginable.

Our crews work hard to keep our roads safe. Let’s remember to look out for the people working on them, too. Please slow down, stay alert, and give road crews room to work safely.

ROAD MAINTENANCE IS AN INVESTMENT

The goal isn't always to wait until a road needs major reconstruction.
Maintaining roads throughout their life can help protect the investment already made in our road system.
From surface treatments and repairs to drainage improvements, ongoing maintenance plays an important role in keeping roads in good condition.
