We have a very happy PUPDATE to report! Last week we received a call that a dog (possible goldendoodle) had been clipped by a car and ran into a field, dragging a leash. Despite the best efforts of many kind folks, including an ECSD’s deputy, the dog was unfortunately not located. A couple of days later, another kind citizen called to report that a small brown dog was stuck between some fencing in her yard. It was the same dog!

The sweet pup was scared, a little thin, had a few burrs in his otherwise beautiful coat, but he was thankfully uninjured! And not only was his leash still attached, but he had an identification tag too!

Chester was accompanying his dad on work travel and got spooked in the hotel parking lot. His dad looked all over for him with no luck - fearing he was stolen, or worse. He regretfully had to return home but started checking shelters in the area Chester might show up. We called him before he could call us!

Chester’s dad drove the 5-hour trip right away to pick up his precious pup. A happy reunion!

We are thankful for the happy ending for Chester and his dad. It is scary to lose your pup in an unfamiliar area where you don’t know who, or where, to call for help with the search. We are thankful for all the folks who tried to help this pup, especially knowing how dangerous it is to be lost with a leash still attached. We are thankful he ended up tangled in someone’s backyard that noticed him right away, rather than in a field scared and alone. This is one lucky pup!
