Healthy communities don't happen by accident, they happen when neighbors, organizations, and public health partners work together. ๐Ÿ’š

During Community Health Improvement Week, we're celebrating the partnerships that help make Barry and Eaton counties healthier places to live, work, and play. From preventing disease and promoting healthy lifestyles to connecting people with resources, community health is a team effort.

Menโ€™s mental health matters.

Thereโ€™s often a strong focus on physical health, but mental health is just as important. Nearly 1 in 5 men in the U.S. experiences a mental illness each year, yet many struggle in silence and never seek support. Men are also nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women.

This month, take a moment to check in with the men in your life, a friend, brother, father, coworker, or neighbor. A simple conversation can make a difference.

โœ… Start the conversation
โœ… Listen without judgment
โœ… Share resources and support
โœ… Remind others that asking for help is a sign of strength

No one should have to face mental health challenges alone. Help us create a community where it's okay to talk, reach out, and seek support. ๐Ÿ’™

We may not agree on everything, but we can all agree on one thing:

๐ŸฆŸ Mosquitoes and ticks are the worst.

With West Nile virus detected in neighboring counties, now's the time to Fight the Bite:

โœ”๏ธ Wear insect repellent
โœ”๏ธ Dump standing water
โœ”๏ธ Cover up when possible
โœ”๏ธ Check yourself, your kids, and your pets for ticks after spending time outdoors

Together, we can make life a little harder for mosquitoes and ticks, and a lot more enjoyable for ourselves.
