Eaton County Resource Recovery

Eaton County Resource Recovery The Resource Recovery Department is dedicated to reducing, reusing, and recycling in Eaton County. ECDRR is a resource to Eaton County residents.

The Eaton County Department of Resource Recovery (ECDRR) is the designated implementing agency responsible for the development and administration of the County Waste Management Plan under Public Act 641. In 1993, a Solid Waste Ordinance was enacted in Eaton County with the purpose of protecting and promoting public health, safety and welfare of residents. Through the Solid Waste Ordinance, solid

waste collection, transportation, delivery and disposal can be regulated, residents and businesses are provided incentives to recycle in order to reduce the volume of solid waste disposed, and the environment is preserved and improved. Tips on recycling, reuse and waste reduction are readily available during office hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm at (517) 543-3686. Special collection events are organized each year to accommodate the proper disposal of wastes such as Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Medications, and Scrap Tires. Visit this link for details: https://www.eatoncounty.org/913/Recycling-Events. ECDRR provides information from local recycling centers but each center operates under the municipality in which it resides. For answers to questions on recycling in your neighborhood, call your local city or village hall.

began yesterday! 🌱

By composting food scraps and yard waste, we take soil health, waste diversion, and emission reduction into our own hands. This week, we’ll highlight various Michigan partnerships that work to compost organic waste, contributing towards state goals like cutting food waste in half by 2030.

Collectively, Michigan composters capture everything from cafeteria vegetable cuttings to neighborhood lawn clippings, repurposing these organics into nutritious soil amendments that rival artificial fertilizers.

Stay tuned for features about Michigan's compost industry posted throughout the week!
