We’ve been keeping this one a secret for a while 🤐 We are soooo proud to announce that Willamette Week's Give!Guide has named HomePlate’s Executive Director Dorian Russell a Skidmore Prize Winner!

Each year, four individuals under 36 are recognized for their contributions to the community through their work in local nonprofits.

Help us with a round of applause for Dorian in the comments 💜

Thanks for inviting us to your birthday party last weekend City of Hillsboro! You look great for being 150 years old :-)

We asked our drop-in youth what home meant to them, and then asked the Hillsboro community the same thing.

Pretty much every answer encapsulated the feelings and services we offer at HomePlate. What does home mean to you?

“When youth come through our doors chilled from being outside, we want to respond pronto! A warm drink or hot meal gets things rolling, then a coat, some gloves and a hat are perfect follow-ups. With the change of season, I hope everyone will check their closets for things they’re no longer using. Every new or lightly used donation matters!”-Norma, Donations Volunteer Captain 🥹
