Beaverton is proud to support reuse as an important way to reduce waste. With the Choose to Reuse initiative, customers can bring their own clean containers to participating restaurants, food carts, grocery stores, and other food businesses for takeout, leftovers, and more.

Businesses benefit too. Inviting customers to bring their own containers reduces waste, saves money, and aligns with the values of eco‑conscious customers.

Find participating locations and resources for businesses on our interactive Beaverton map https://arcg.is/CivaD1

Amity Orchards is officially open in South Cooper Mountain! This new 164-unit community brings affordable homes to more than 300 residents, including seniors and families. Through the Metro Regional Affordable Housing Bond, the city invested $9 million in the project and added nearly $850,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds.

Amity Orchards was made possible through strong public–private partnerships and a shared commitment to building inclusive, multigenerational communities with access to parks, transit, and on-site resident services.

Yesterday we kicked off Pride Month with a burst of color and community spirit at City Hall. Mayor Beaty, Council President John Dugger, a representative from one of our Employee Resource Groups, and a local business owner helped raise the Pride flag high above Beaverton. It was a meaningful reminder of our city’s commitment to being a welcoming, inclusive place where everyone can thrive.

Join us for the PRIDE Beaverton Celebration and Parade from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at City Park. Learn more at www.BeavertonOregon.gov/482/Events

What an inspiring day at Fir Grove and William Walker elementary schools! Third graders at both schools welcomed Beaverton presiding Judge Juliet Britton and four fellow judges for a special Reading & Robes visit.
As part of this national outreach program, Judge Britton read Turning Pages: My Life Story by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, inviting students to explore themes of perseverance, fairness, and possibility. She encouraged students to believe in their dreams and highlighted how reading and education can help make those dreams real.
Students asked great questions and each took home a signed copy of the book. Reading & Robes helps kids see that their community believes in them and that big futures start with curiosity and learning.
