Have you heard the buzz about climbing for Parkinson's? There's good reason for it.

Rock climbing engages the whole body and mind at once — building strength, balance, coordination, and focus, all while problem-solving your way up the wall. For people living with Parkinson's, this kind of full-body, brain-engaged movement can be incredibly beneficial.

Join us for Climbing & Parkinson's, a free, beginner-friendly session at Portland Rock Gym in Beaverton. No climbing experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Care partners and family members are welcome too.

Friday, July 10
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Portland Rock Gym, 10860 SW Barnes Road, Beaverton, OR

Only 9 days until the 6th Annual PeDal Support for Parkinson's! 🚴💙

As we count down to ride day, we're taking a moment to look back on some of our favorite memories from the past five years. From our Adaptive Cycle Fair to conquering miles on the beautiful Banks-Vernonia Trail and exploring Washington County together, PeDal Support has been so much more than a bike ride.

It's a celebration of community, determination, and the freedom and independence that cycling can provide for people living with Parkinson's disease.

Thank you to everyone who has ridden, volunteered, fundraised, and cheered us on over the years. We can't wait to create even more memories with you next weekend! There is still time to join the fun!

This is a great opportunity to learn directly from a movement disorder specialist and connect with others in the Parkinson's community on the coast.

For Lynn, exercise is more than a workout - it's a source of connection, encouragement, and inspiration.

One of the things that keeps her coming back is the support she finds from her fellow exercise friends. When people living with Parkinson's come together, they motivate one another to keep moving, try new things, and celebrate every success along the way.

Discover why community can be such an important part of the exercise journey. 💙 Exercise is stronger together.

As temperatures start to climb, staying cool isn't just about comfort — for people living with Parkinson's disease, it's a matter of safety.

Heat can worsen PD symptoms, interfere with medications, and put people at greater risk of heat-related illness. Planning ahead before summer arrives is one of the best things you can do.

If you are a Portland resident, there is help available right now.

The City of Portland's Cooling Portland program is offering free cooling units to income-eligible Portland residents. Priority is given to people over 60, those living alone, and those with medical conditions that increase their risk of heat-related illness — which includes many people living with Parkinson's.

Applications are open through June 30, 2026. Apply here:
https://loom.ly/cDP-XgM

Not in Portland? There are still options worth exploring:

Health Share Oregon may be able to connect you with cooling assistance through your medical provider. Call 503-416-8090.

Energy Trust of Oregon offers programs through utility providers. Call 866-368-7878.

Multnomah County Department of Human Services can assist with home weatherization. Call 503-988-7423.

For urgent cooling needs anywhere in Oregon, call 211 for information on cooling shelters and transportation.

Please share this with anyone in your life who may need it. No one should be unsafe at home because of the heat.

🚴‍♀️The excitement is building, and the support has been incredible. Could this be our BIGGEST PeDal Support for Parkinson's yet? YAY! 🎉Help us reach our goal

😀 With 16 days until the ride we’ve raised $13,333 — that’s 89% of our fundraising goal! Every dollar helps fund vital programs and services for people living with Parkinson’s right here in our local community.

Now it’s your turn to join the party! 💙 Sunday, June 28th in Banks, OR

Ride your pace, enjoy the beautiful Banks-Vernonia Trail, and be part of an amazing day filled with community, purpose, and fun. Whether you ride 5 miles or 50, you’re making a difference for those with Parkinson's in your local community. Remember, all money raised stays right here in Oregon and SW Washington.

🚵‍♂️Let’s pedal together and reach our goal of $15,000! 🚵‍♀️
