TxP2P is glad to share about an upcoming opportunity!

Join in for the "A Look Ahead Encore Presentations: The Power of Section 504 and what could be lost - Community-Based Services and Long-Term Supports, Medicaid Waivers, Accessibility and More!"

Presenter: Jeff Miller, Disability Rights Texas

Session Description:

Jeff Miller will highlight how Section 504 has shaped everyday access and community living for disabled people, including accommodations in schools, protections against exclusion, and stronger standards in health care and accessibility. It will also examine the current legal and policy threats, including challenges described by disability advocates in Texas vs. Kennedy, a case they say could weaken Section 504 protections and related disability rights.

Jeff Miller - Jeff has held various policy related positions at Disability Rights Texas (DRTx) starting in 2006, including work in the areas of health care access, community integration, and special education. He is currently a Sr. Policy Specialist. In addition to extensive professional experience, Jeff is able to share his personal experiences as a father of a son with disabilities. Jeff received his law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law and holds a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Houston.

There is no cost to participate but registration is required.
