☀️🚨 To our Hope Clinic community and fellow Texans, please remember to stay cool and safe! Temperatures have exceeded 100 °F multiple times this past week and will continue to stay high throughout August. Please refer to our “Heat Kit” reel, also reposted on our story, for reminders of what to have with you and keep ready on these warm summer days. What to keep in mind: stay hydrated, remain in shady areas, and protect your skin with sunscreen and/or loose-fitting long sleeves.
Know the signs of heat-related illness, too, because you can overheat quicker than you’d think! Heat exhaustion may cause excessive sweating, disorientation, headache, nausea, weakness, and cool/clammy skin. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and may cause confusion, unconsciousness, seizures, or a very high body temperature.
