Conservation Law Enforcement for the Past, Present, and Future.

To accomplish the mission of the state parks division, State Park Police Officers provide the following professional law enforcement services:
• State Park Police Officers carry full statewide jurisdiction and are tasked with enforcement of the Texas Penal Code and relevant provisions of other Texas laws, Texas Park and Wildlife Code, State Park Rules and Regulations and applicable federal laws.
• Community oriented policing through education, community outreach and visitor relations.
• Preventing violations by conducting high visibility patrols in State Parks and adjacent areas.
• Citing, apprehending and arresting violators.
• Performs criminal and administrative investigations / manage investigative cases
• Conducts search and rescue operations
• Fostering professional partnerships with other local and state agencies and judicial groups such judges and prosecutors.
• Public safety and emergency management response functions including working natural and man- made disasters
• Homeland security operations including border protection, monuments, national historic land marks, public utilities / infrastructure, public water ways and land resources.
• Serve as a force multiplier to support law enforcement actions at other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies when called upon.

Last Saturday morning Texas State Park Police and Texas Game Wardens alongside other first responders of the coastal region aided a Costal Conservation Association Kid’s Fishing Clinic.

First responders gathered at the Conn Brown Harbor to give kids an opportunity to learn how to fish and interact with their local first responders. Officers helped kids cast, bait hooks, untangle lines, and answer questions. Most importantly, they made sure everyone was safe while having a good time.

Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Law Enforcement Division is proud to support efforts to engage with and learn from community members and future stewards inside and outside the parks.

This month Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Angler Education and Female Employee R3 program coordinated a Women’s Saltwater Fishing Event. Our Female Employee R3 Program is meant to support women by creating opportunities and removing barriers to encourage confident participation in hunting, shooting sports, fishing and boating in the state of Texas; allowing women of the field to become knowledgeable stewards of the TPWD mission through experience.

Texas State Park Police attended to assist the women of TPWD who were able to participate in this skills expansion experience.

The event was held at the CCA Marine Development Center in Corpus Christi, a TPWD hatchery for redfish, seatrout and flounder. Participants practiced catch and release to build their confidence as new anglers.

Texas State Park Police are proud to support TPWD's mission to manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Today we celebrate National First Responders Day, a day dedicated to Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS, 911 Dispatchers, Corrections Officers, and SAR teams who run toward the danger.

Thank you for showing up every single day to serve and protect our communities. For every early morning training, every long day turned into a long night, and every time you’ve put your life on the line for the safety of others. It’s an honor to work alongside such exceptional people who choose to be protectors and stewards for our communities.

This month Texas State Park Police and Texas Game Wardens were invited to Portland’s Walk & Roll. Members of the Portland community groups together to celebrate inclusion, acceptance, and abilities.

Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Law Enforcement Division presented skulls and furs safe for attendees to interact with and learn from. Visitors also had the opportunity to speak with our officers to learn about TPWD and our mission.

This week, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Law Enforcement Division brought together Texas Game Wardens and Texas State Park Police to recognize outstanding service, professional achievements and career milestones during its annual awards and pinning ceremony.

Congratulations to the 28 officers recognized for their promotions! These individuals have demonstrated the leadership, dedication and commitment to service that strengthen our division and the communities we serve.

The ceremony also recognized officers and personnel whose exceptional work has made a lasting impact across Texas.

Last Week, Officer Ron Brantly and the Morris County Game Warden attended the Daingerfield State Park Halloween FunFest and Night Hike for a “spookified” park night.

They handed out candy and stickers, interacted with park visitors, and participated in the night hike to promote outdoor recreation and conservation.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Law Enforcement Division are grateful for the opportunity to develop positive relationships within our communities.

With dove season nearing a close, we’d like to show a highlight from one of our mentored public hunts.

At Lake Corpus Christi State Park, 10 novice adult hunters were paired with knowledgeable mentors. TPWD Hunters Education staff, Texas State Park Police, Texas Game Wardens, and local hunting guides were providing hands-on instruction during an evening dove hunt.

The event was a great success. Participants were mentored in fi***rm safety, educated about the natural resources we protect, and recreational experiences we offer.

Thank you to staff and volunteers who made the event possible and thank you to everyone who joined us. It’s our privilege to guide the people of Texas in hunting and all things outdoors.

Last week in Live Oak County, Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Law Enforcement Division supported a community event that provided families and kids with the opportunity to interact with first responders and the equipment they use.

Texas State Park Police and Texas Game Wardens attended the event with a boat and water safety equipment. We taught the families about water safety, responsibilities as TPWD law enforcement, and gave kids the chance to explore our boats and equipment.

Texas State Park Police and Texas Game Wardens are thankful for any opportunity we can reach out and educate the public.
