It's time to update your UNISON details! There are upcoming ballots on pay and job evaluation, likely to be held during the summer, and both are vital for your rights at work. It's official: UNISON and the other unions of the NJC Pay Committee have voted to REJECT the poor 3.3% pay increase this financial year. This means we will be balloting whether or not to campaign for industrial action to get the pay rise you all deserve. The ballot will begin on July 9th 2026: Gateshead members should update your details by e-mailing [email protected] to make sure you receive your ballot papers!

Local government unions have rejected the 2026 pay offer and are demanding meaningful pay negotiations in a letter to employers signed by all three unions - UNISON, Unite and GMB.

UNISON are balloting members for strike action from 9 July.
