HAPPENING TODAY: We just received notice from Constellation that they will be performing unscheduled testing throughout the day today (Wednesday, June 24th) on the emergency warning sirens surrounding Limerick Clean Energy Center (formerly known as "Limerick Generating Station"). There is no emergency or cause for concern.

The warning siren system consists of sirens located in the 10-mile radius around Limerick Clean Energy Center in Montgomery, Chester, and Berks counties. In a real event, the sirens are not a signal to evacuate, but a warning to tune to a local Emergency Alert Broadcast television or radio station.

Have you been approached by someone soliciting at your door either on a segway or driving a honda? There have been no permits issued for this individual and you should call 911 to have the state police respond.

Update (6/26/2026):

Immediately following numerous complaints and concerns from the residents of Upper Frederick Township Supervisor Karaffa met with the individual in question and directed him to complete the appropriate paperwork to receive a solicitor’s license. After never hearing from the individual at the Township, Township Manager Aaron Walizer reached out to the local office of Moxie Pest Control to have the actions remedied. After receiving no corrective action from the company or individual salesman the Code Enforcement Officer has been directed to issue a Notice of Violation and issue the appropriate fines as allowed by section 253 of the Upper Frederick Township code.”

Following the approval at the March Board Of Supervisors (BOS) meeting the Supervisors appointed Robert Bezgin CPA to perform a complete audit of all township finances. In April and May, the Township Treasurer began to gather and submit all documentation required by the auditor. Today the auditor began his work at the township to check all hard copies needed to confirm prior documentation provided by the treasurer. Audits in Townships are required as a yearly process and are an important part of building trust in the community to ensure your tax money is fully accounted for as required by the state.

Announcement: PennDOT will begin paving Route 73 (Big Road) over night. They will be starting at the circle by Wawa and going to Colonial Road. This is scheduled to take several weeks.
