This morning, on the last day of school, Director Williams stopped by Dilworth PreK-5 to thank Crossing Guard Rita and all crossing guards for their dedicated work during the 2025-26 school year.

Rita has been with Pittsburgh Public Safety as a crossing guard for over 26 years! Rita’s warm interactions with students and their guardians reveal a special bond built over the school year.

"Whether they have been with us for one year or more than 26 years like Rita, these dedicated crossing guards show up in rain, snow, or shine to protect our children,” said Director Williams. “We are so incredibly grateful for everything they do to keep our kids safe."

Thank you to all our crossing guards, and congratulations to Pittsburgh Public Schools students on another successful school year! Have an amazing and safe summer.
