Re-opened in 1926, this landmark is part of Pittsburgh’s legendary Three Sisters Bridges. Named in honor of Pittsburgh-born environmentalist and author, Rachel Carson, the bridge stands as both an engineering achievement and a tribute to a conservation pioneer

Next up on our list of features, one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic crossings: the Andy Warhol Bridge 🌉✨

The current bridge you see was re-constructed in 1926. In 2005, it was renamed to honor Pittsburgh-born artist Andy Warhol, connecting Downtown to the North Shore and the nearby Andy Warhol Museum.

In 2025, the bridge officially received historic designation, recognizing its lasting architectural, engineering, and cultural significance to Pittsburgh’s story. 💛

🚍🚲🚶 Oakland is on the move!

The Oakland Integrated Mobility Study (OIMS) is taking a big-picture look at how people travel to, from, through, and around Oakland — one of the busiest hubs in Pittsburgh.

As a key action item from the adopted Oakland Plan, this study will explore how transportation systems work together and where improvements are needed most by identifying solutions to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and create safer connections for everyone.

For our final showcase: The Three Sisters Bridges, Pittsburgh's iconic, one-of-a-kind engineering marvel

The and are the only trio of nearly identical bridges in the world and a true symbol of Pittsburgh innovation

Built between 1924 and 1928, these iconic self-anchored suspension bridges introduced a groundbreaking eyebar-chain design while helping modernize river navigation through the city

Following major restorations completed between 2016 and 2023, the bridges now shine brighter than ever with more than 600,000 programmable LED lights, transforming them into glowing landmarks that celebrate the spirit of the city and add to the jaw-dropping Pittsburgh skyline✨

In 2025, all three bridges were successfully designated as historic landmarks, ensuring these beloved structures will continue to inspire future generations while being a powerful reminder of Pittsburgh’s rich and creative history.

Built between 1904–1914, these Beaux Art Classical style buildings played a critical role in delivering clean drinking water to residents and helping combat typhoid during a pivotal time in the city’s history.

Landmarked in 2025, they are now part of Pittsburgh's historic landmarks and remain an essential part of the city's water system more than a century later. 🏛️💙
