It's going to be hot today and feeling in the 90s!

-Start hydrating early—don't wait until you're thirsty.
-Drink water regularly throughout the day.
-Increase fluid intake when spending time outdoors or in the heat.
-Drink extra water before, during, and after physical activity.
-Limit alcohol and excessive caffeine during hot weather.
-Check on children, older adults, and pets.
-If someone shows signs of heat illness, move them to a cool place and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

One of the first signs of heat illness is muscle cramps, so if you start cramping up it's time to act:

— Get someplace cooler, stat ☃️
— Remove excess clothing 👋
— Drink a cool sports drink 🧃
— Avoid caffeine/alcohol 🚫🍸

Seek medical help if your cramps don't go away in an hour, you have heart problems, or you are on a low-sodium diet.

It's the first day of hurricane season and because weather can be cruel, we do have to be ready for hurricanes even though we're landlocked. 😒🙄

In Pennsylvania, that means prepping for winds and flooding.

A few ways to be ready for hurricane season:
1. Gather basic emergency supplies at home, for the car, and at work 🔦
2. Have at least 2 reliable ways to get weather alerts 🤳
3. Take steps to protect your home from severe weather 🛠️
