We’re proud to celebrate Holiday The Regent for receiving the prestigious Q Award for outstanding quality and service.

This recognition is awarded to communities that achieve Quality Enhancement scores of 90% or higher, reflecting excellence across operations, hospitality, dining and resident experience. This year, Holiday Regent earned an impressive overall score of 95%, with several departments achieving perfect scores.

These achievements reflect the dedication of community teams who work every day to create welcoming, vibrant places residents are proud to call home. We’re also grateful to the residents and families who help make each community so special.

Delicious food, celebrity judges and stellar emcees made our community cook-offs a huge success! Our Chef Showdown Social Series event was a tasty one as taco recipes from our chefs went head-to-head with recipes from local fire chiefs and first responders.

And the good news? Everyone's a winner when tacos are involved!

When Roger helped his mom move into Holiday Grizzly Peak, she didn’t want to go at first. He had to do a little convincing.

But before long, she loved it there.

Years later, when it was Roger’s turn to start looking into senior living, he knew exactly where to begin: a Holiday community near his family in the Seattle area.

Now a resident at Holiday Peninsula, he gets to experience for himself the friendships, support and sense of home that meant so much to his mom all those years ago. 💙

“Poetry is life itself on the page.”

At 93, Elizabeth, a resident at Holiday Devonshire Estates, is still writing, reading and sharing poetry every Sunday afternoon with neighbors and friends. A lifelong poet and former NYU poetry instructor, Elizabeth has spent decades helping others see the world more deeply through language and rhythm.

She says living at Devonshire Estates feels “like recess” — a place that is “friendly and encouraging” and full of people who love to create.

Whether she’s reading from one of her many published collections, discussing the craft of poetry or encouraging others to slow down and truly enjoy life, Elizabeth brings creativity and curiosity to every conversation.

To Debbie, from Allen.

"I'm not sure that I have the proper vocabulary to adequately put into words how important Debbie is to my life," shares Allen, a resident of Holiday The Chateau at Harveston. "She has helped me adapt after losing my spouse of 60 years and taught me how to adapt to this new environment and make new friends."

As the Engage Life Coordinator, Debbie knows her residents well, planning daily programs and events for them to enjoy. "She keeps us busy and entertained. Her joyful attitude is more than we could ever expect."

"I've made a lot of new friends, but deep down, most of us long for close ties to family at this age. A deeply caring person like Debbie has made all the difference in the world to me. I'm forever indebted to Debbie for being here to brighten my life and for being such a wonderful shoulder to lean on in times of need. She is priceless to my family and me."

Well, Debbie. We think we found the president of your well-deserved fan club!

"Another great afternoon," shares Phyllis, one of the residents movin' and shakin' at Atria Ironwood Estates!

Crowd favorite entertainers Marcy and Dave drew quite an audience, playing a wide selection of songs that encouraged residents to dance and sing along.

We're so thankful to the performers who bring amazing energy to our communities! 🎶

Meet Gary from Atria Longlake Chateau. At 91, he’s still turning heads with the 1932 Ford coupe he built by hand in his 40s.

What started as a dream became a two-year project fueled by patience, skill and a whole lot of determination. From the flat charcoal-black finish to the black leather seats and manual transmission, every detail reflects Gary’s style and craftsmanship. He even converted the rumble seat into extra storage — practical and clever, just like him.

Now, after years of enjoying the car and the memories that came with it, Gary has passed it down to his son — but don't worry, he still enjoys the view from the passenger seat.

From his apartment at Holiday Bluebird Estates, Joe can connect with people across the country – or across the world – with just a few clicks of his radio and the sound of his call sign: AB1YC.

“This is the original social network,” Joe said. “Long before there was an internet.”

An amateur radio enthusiast for decades, Joe has spoken with operators in Brazil, England and beyond. During a recent demonstration, he connected with another radio operator in Illinois in seconds, chatting about the hobby and introducing nearby listeners to the world of ham radio.

For Joe, amateur radio has always been about more than technology. It’s about education, friendship and curiosity.

After first getting licensed while working at the Science Museum of Long Island, Joe began teaching amateur radio to students and community groups. A lifelong educator with degrees in geology, earth science education and mathematics, he loved helping people discover something new. “I like talking to people, but I also like teaching,” he said.

That passion continues today at Bluebird Estates, where Joe regularly shares his hobby with fellow residents through demonstrations and classes. He’s even taught licensing courses over the years with a perfect success rate – every student he’s taught has passed.

Joe’s enthusiasm also extends beyond radio. Residents may recognize him from the community fitness classes he leads, where he combines warmups, weights and tai chi with plenty of humor along the way.

Whether he’s teaching exercise or explaining how signals can bounce off the moon, Joe brings the same energy to everything he does: a love of learning and a desire to connect people.

“People all over the world,” Joe said, smiling as another voice crackled through the speaker. “You get to talk to people you may never meet and be their closest friend.”

We served it up Creole style at our Taste of Louisiana event.

Residents enjoyed fried okra with remoulade, chicken and sausage jambalaya, and banana bread pudding for dessert!

To top it off, communities screened the movie Where the Crawdads Sing.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!
