Our dispatchers are providing support to the members of Local 4662 as they operate at a structure fire on Brittany Circle. Recalled dispatchers are reporting in to assist the On-Duty Dispatcher with communication needs.

Overnight our responders were operating at a motor vehicle accident on Route 9 when the fire apparatus used to protect the scene was struck by a car. The vehicle also struck a state police vehicle. The Trooper and one firefighter were transported to the hospital.

PLEASE, pay attention when on the road. Slow down and move over when you are approaching the scene of an emergency incident. Our responders need room to work and mitigate the incident.

Early this morning while operating at a scene on Rte 9, TAC 4 was struck by a vehicle traveling too fast for conditions and sustained significant damage. 1 Firefighter who was in the TAC at the time suffered minor, non life threatening injuries and was treated and released from the the hospital. A trooper at the scene was also injured when his vehicle was struck while he was inside, he also was treated and released from the hospital.

We are extremely grateful the 2 individuals are OK.

Remember to be aware of the surroundings when operating on any roadway, apparatus used for blocking at scenes must be positioned correctly to protect all personnel working.

Apparatus can be replaced, we can not!

This morning at 0828 a fire alarm was transmitted by our Communications Center. At 0833, while units were responding the center received a 911 call reporting a fire in the building and a structure fire assignment was transmitted. Our on-duty dispatcher worked quickly to ensure the assignment was filled out with mutual aid and initiated a callback for of-duty Dispatchers to respond. Excellent job by all operating in the Center and on the scene.
