πŸš” Please Join Us in Welcoming Our Newest Officer Candidate! πŸš”

The Rocky Hill Police Department is proud to welcome Justin McAvoy-Laflamme as our newest officer candidate!

Justin was selected through our highly competitive entry-level police officer hiring process and will soon begin his law enforcement career by attending the Connecticut Police Academy. During the next 26 weeks, he will undergo extensive training in criminal law, patrol procedures, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, fi****ms proficiency, community policing, ethics, and many other critical areas necessary to serve and protect our community.

Upon successful completion of the academy, Justin will return to Rocky Hill where he will continue his training through our Field Training Officer (FTO) Program before serving independently as a Rocky Hill Police Officer.

Please join us in congratulating Justin and wishing him success as he embarks on this exciting and challenging journey in public service.

Update: Another sighting in the area of Orchard Street/Raymond Road, up in a tree. Bear is believed to have been injured in a motor vehicle collision on the highway, as reported by the Connecticut State Police. It is unknown whether this is the same bear previously reported in the Maple Street area. DEEP was notified and is not currently taking any further action.

The Rocky Hill Police Department is excited to announce the upcoming launch of our new Public Activity & Statistics Dashboard! This new online resource is designed to provide residents with a transparent, easy-to-use snapshot of police activity occurring throughout our community. The dashboard will be updated daily, allowing residents to view recent activity and gain a better understanding of the work our officers are doing to keep Rocky Hill safe.

Transparency is a cornerstone of effective policing and community trust. Through this dashboard, residents will have greater access to information about police activity, calls for service, and other department statistics. Our goal is to provide the community with a clear picture of the services being delivered each day while strengthening accountability, openness, and community engagement.

We believe informed communities are stronger communities. This dashboard will help residents stay connected with the ongoing efforts of the officers who patrol your neighborhoods, respond to emergencies, engage in community policing initiatives, and work tirelessly to improve public safety.

Road Closure

Grimes Road between Louis Place and Hillside Avenue is closed due to a water main break. Crews from MDC are on scene and will be making the necessary repairs. The road is expected to remain closed for approximately 8 hours while repair work is completed.
