On Monday, Lori Bell-Carter distributed the below flyer by hand and posted it on her Instagram account because she believes, as law enforcement officials do, that there is someone out there with information about the May 6, 2005 murder of her brother, Edward "Little Man" Bell Jr. on George Street in Hartford.

“If anybody knows anything, please come forward," Bell-Carter said in a recent interview when asked what she would like to say to the public. "While you never get full closure when something tragic like this happens, my family deserves to get some peace - peace for my mother, my brother's children, me, for everybody that loved him. Please put yourselves in our shoes and come forward."

Over the past 19 years, Edward has missed many important family milestones, including his mother Gloria's recent 80th birthday, Bell-Carter said.

"Days like that are very hard still. You never forget what was lost," Bell-Carter said.

The Division of Criminal Justice's Cold Case Unit also hasn't forgotten Edward and is actively investigating the fatal shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-866-623-8058, email [email protected] or send a DM through this page.
