Today, on National First Responders Day, we recognize and honor the dedicated men and women who answer the call to serve, protect, and care for our communities.

From law enforcement officers and firefighters to paramedics, EMTs, and dispatchers, we thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe.

To our fellow first responders, thank you for all that you do, today and every day!

We are excited to announce that, thanks to the tremendous support of California State Senator Bob Archuleta Bob Archuleta , the Montebello Police Department has secured funding to purchase a brand-new rescue vehicle! This marks the first time in our department’s history that we will purchase this state-of-the-art rescue vehicle, significantly enhancing officer safety, emergency response capabilities, and protection for our community.

This investment comes at a critical time as we rebuild our Special Response Team (SRT) and strengthen the future of MPD. We are especially grateful to Senator Archuleta for his continued commitment to public safety and support of our department. We also want to thank Mayor Georgina Tamayo and City Manager Raul Alvarez for their leadership, support, and partnership in making this possible.

This is an exciting milestone and a major step forward for the Montebello Police Department!

This National Coffee with a Cop Day, we’re looking back on some of our past Coffee with a Cop events!

From great conversations to new connections, these events give us the opportunity to step away from the calls, sit down with our community, and simply connect over a cup of coffee.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, shared a conversation, asked a question, or simply said hello. We’re grateful for every opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our officers and the community we proudly serve.

Today, we honor and remember Officer Henry Acuña, whose life was tragically taken in the line of duty on October 6, 1971.

More than five decades later, Officer Acuña’s service, courage, and sacrifice remain an enduring part of the Montebello Police Department. His legacy lives on through the generations of officers who have followed in his footsteps and through the community he proudly served.

We will always remember the sacrifice Officer Acuña and his family made for the City of Montebello. His memory will forever remain a part of our department’s history.

Throughout the month of October, the Montebello Police Department is proud to wear pink in support of those currently fighting breast cancer, honor the survivors, and remember those we have lost.

Through our annual Pink Patch Project, we join law enforcement agencies across the country in raising awareness and showing our support for those impacted by breast cancer.

This year, proceeds from our Pink Patch Project will benefit City of Hope in support of continued cancer research.

Want to support the cause? We’ll be selling our Pink Patch Project merchandise at the City of Montebello Heritage Festival on October 11! Stop by our booth, grab your Pink Patch gear, and help us support a great cause.

Together, we wear pink for a purpose.

Illegal car meets and related unlawful driving activity will not be tolerated within the City of Montebello. Officers will be actively enforcing all applicable traffic laws and vehicle codes, and violations may result in citations, vehicle impoundment, and/or arrest when authorized by law.

We urge all motorists to drive responsibly, obey traffic laws, and help keep our roadways safe.
