Today, Los Angeles District Attorney Hochman invited Rampart personnel to his picnic at MacArthur Park. He made a promise during the recent DEA operations that he would picnic in MacArthur Park on Labor Day weekend, and he kept it. Outstanding fellowship and engagement by the law enforcement community with community members. No one group can take any credit for the improvement around the park. It was a collective effort which ultimately led to removing bad actors like drug dealers. Thanks to all involved for protecting the Castle. 🏰

Today Rampart SLO’s and CTD Motors conducted a Crosswalk Task Force at 3rd and Grandview. Officers wrote 37 tickets to drivers who failed to stop for pedestrians crossing at a crosswalk. Outstanding job by all involved protecting the community. 🏰

On August 31, 2026, at approximately 2030 hours Rampart Gangs was conducting crime suppression in the area of Monroe and Virgil when they observed a group of gang members drinking. Suspects fled on foot in various directions when they observed the police vehicle. Officers requested a back-up and established a perimeter. Officers were able to catch up with a subject who was armed with a firearm. Subject was arrested for Minor in Possession of a Firearm. During the perimeter a second suspect was located who was arrested for an outstanding Felony Warrant for Robbery. Both suspects are documented gang members. Outstanding job by all involved protecting the community. 🏰

Rampart SLO’s and Detectives went out early this morning to investigate a problematic homeless encampment on Olympic at Burlington. The operation resulted in 5 physical arrests, 11 citations, and the recovery of $5,000 in copper wire. After the operation, our LA City partners cleaned everything up. Rampart Narcotics conducted a search warrant today and arrested one suspect for 11351 H&S – Possession of a controlled substance for sale. They recovered approximately one ounce of fentanyl and over $4,000 in cash. Outstanding work by all involved, which included additional personnel from Patrol, VICE, Gangs, and the MacArthur Park Footbeats. Rampart cops protecting the Castle. 🏰

How it Started vs How it’s Going. Officer Cuellar and Officer Cummings met as Cadets with dreams of becoming big city cops. They crossed paths again here at Rampart as patrol officers, and last week they were promoted on the same day, with Officer Cuellar being sworn in as a new sergeant and Officer Cummings as a new detective. It’s great to see good things happening to amazing people. Help us wish them well in their new assignments. 🏰🏰

Rampart Narcotics made another significant arrest last night. They observed a known MacArthur Park drug dealer involved in criminal activity which resulted in his arrest. The follow up investigation led to the seizure of almost 3/4 of a kilo of fentanyl, 4 handguns, and cash. Outstanding job by all involved protecting the community and the Castle! 🏰
