We are looking forward to our Trick or Treat and Haunted Hallways night tonight. Just a reminder that this is for Pine students and immediate family only. Doors will open at 5 pm and the event will be over at 6 pm.

We love it when our students embody the MCAS 7 Habits of Character both inside and outside of the school setting. Amelia, a Pine fourth grader, exhibits those characterisitcs all of the time. She is a kind, caring, attentive, responsible student inside our school. All those characteristics combined with a healthy amount of empathy were witnessed outside the school setting as well. We received reports of a Pine student doing something amazing during the MC downtown Trick or Treat event last weekend. Apparently, Ameila was helping pass out candy and when the candy ran out, Amelia started to pass out her own candy so other kids were able to get candy. Way to go Amelia!

Understanding the 2026 MCAS Operating Referendum

On November 3, voters will be asked to consider a proposed Operating Referendum for Michigan City Area Schools.

Tomorrow night! 👻🍬 Join MCAS for a spooktacular time trick-or-treating under the lights at Ames Field! This event is FREE for MCAS students and families, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Reminder: All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. See you there!

Miss. Taylor, our art intern, took the lead on both of these bulletin boards and created them. The board by the resource room with the Dolly quote was a brain child between both Miss. Taylor and Mrs. Beadles, though Mrs. Beadles said Miss. Taylor did the groundwork.The Tim Burton Selfies were the result of a lesson by Miss. Taylor.

🦸 Red Ribbon Week, recognized nationally October 23-31, encourages students and communities to make healthy, safe, responsible, and drug-free choices. Our schools will create banners for the cause and for friendly competition for the highly coveted MCAS Spirit Stick!

🥫 Tune into 95.1 FM/AM 1420 WIMS this morning to hear MCHS Student Government talk about the Annual Food and Book Drive!

📋 Barker Middle School will present updates and highlights at our October board meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the Administration Building (408 S. Carroll Ave.) A livestream will also be available at Youtube.com/

🍬 This Wednesday! Join us from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Wolfie's Night Out: Trick or Treat at Ames. A parent or guardian must be present.

Congratulations to our Pine soccer team on their undefeated season!

Pine won the last soccer game of the year and wound up being undefeated 6-0, with one tie game earlier in the season.

Way to go Panthers!

On Thursday and Friday the Pines Fire Department came out to Pine to show our students their trucks, equipment, and gear. Getting to learn about these things makes it less scary when children see the fire department in action.
October is fire prevention month. Do you have a plan with your family should a fire happen? Make sure your child knows what to do in case of an emergency.
Thank you to our community partner for always being a positive presence for our school.
