Today, we had the pleasure of celebrating some of the organizations making a difference across Boone County at our 2026 Unrestricted Grantee Open House! 🎉

This year, CFBC awarded $232,266 in Unrestricted Grants to 25 local organizations, supporting the programs, services, and initiatives that help Boone County thrive.

Growing opportunities, one harvest at a time! 🌱

With support from a CFBC grant, Watch Us Farm is expanding its ability to provide meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities while strengthening Boone County's local food system.

Grant funding helped purchase equipment and make facility improvements to increase efficiency, improve workplace sanitation, and meet federal food safety standards. These investments are also helping Watch Us Farm work toward USDA certification in partnership with Purdue Extension, with the goal of selling locally grown produce in grocery stores year-round.

And the impact is already reaching beyond the farm! Watch Us Farm now provides fresh produce to three Boone County food pantries, helping more local families access nutritious food.

We're proud to support Watch Us Farm as it continues to grow opportunities for the people it serves and the Boone County community!

Grantee Highlight: Little Red Door Cancer Agency

For individuals undergoing cancer treatment, transportation and proper nutrition shouldn't be additional sources of stress. With support from a CFBC grant, Little Red Door Cancer Agency provided critical assistance to Boone County cancer patients through its Rides of Hope and Nutritional Supplements programs.

In 2025, that support helped provide:

🚗 118 free round-trip rides to cancer treatments, covering 1,667 miles through gas cards and transportation services like Uber, Lyft, and Z-Trip.

🥤 480 meals in the form of medically recommended nutritional supplements to help patients maintain their strength during treatment.

By removing financial barriers to transportation and nutrition, Little Red Door helps patients focus on their health and recovery rather than the cost of getting to appointments or meeting their nutritional needs.

We're proud to support Little Red Door and the difference it's making for Boone County residents facing a cancer diagnosis.
