🚨 REPORT NOXIOUS WEEDS IN CENTER TOWNSHIP 🚨

Center Township residents can report noxious and detrimental vegetation directly to our office using our new online form:

Our office will investigate each complaint in accordance with IC 15-16-8. Property owners will be notified and given the opportunity to take corrective action. If they fail to do so, we will proceed with eradication efforts and recover costs as permitted by law.

Good afternoon. This morning I spoke with EMA Director Mike Martin about warming centers. Attached is a copy of the warming centers for Lebanon and all of Boone County.

Boone County EMA coordinates and posts all of the available centers to 211. The information has been updated as of today.

“Good morning,

EMA has sent a list of temporary warming centers to Indiana 211, with instructions to contact the communication center non-emergency line if after hours assistance is needed. The communication center will also be contacted if someone shows up to a fire station as those locations are only temporary until another location is available.”

As the needs of our community continue to grow, we are in need of an Township Assistance Investigator.

Township Assistance is a critical part of the Township Trustee’s responsibility to the residents of Center township. The Township Assistance Investigator’s role is to interview, assess and investigate an applicant’s financial request. The Investigator also examine applicants’ situation to provide crisis intervention, counseling, education, and to make referrals to appropriate agencies and community partners. Qualifications for assistance are based on guidelines set forth by the Indiana Township Association and the Center Township Board. This position performs its duties and responsibilities in accordance with Indiana State Statutes.

The Shalom house is a wonderful community asset that has worked for years to make sure no one has to go hungry. If you are in need of a meal, be sure to check with this organization.

Today! (July 18th) from 5-7 at The Shalom House (304 W. Green St.) We are serving free hot meals to anyone with a meal need today. Menu: Tuna casserole, peas, fruit, dessert. Dine in, curbside, and walk up carry out are available. All are welcome! See you soon!

The Shalom House is a great resource for food in our community.

TODAY (July 3rd-rain or shine) is Shalom Kids Sack Lunch pick up day! Free breakfasts and lunches for your school aged Boone County children. (see locations and times below) Any Boone County child from 4-18 is eligible for free take home meals. No registration. Just come if you have a need. Bring your ID. No deliveries. All are welcome!

Today they removed an old sign in front of our new office to prepare for the new sign installation.

Stayed tuned to Center Township Fire Department Lebanon, Indiana, as they will put this sign to use in a unique training opportunity in the coming weeks.
