Congratulations Michael!!

Today the LFD Admin Chiefs had the honor of presenting Firefighter Michael Ellis with his 1-Year challenge coin. Firefighter Ellis was hired September 2, 2025 and graduated from Northside Fire Academy. Michael is a father, husband, U.S. Navy veteran, and can now add the title of 1st Class Firefighter/EMT to that list! Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Michael Ellis on this career milestone.

Important information as we all get ready for the final Brush Week of 2026.

ATTENTION: The Final Brush Week of 2026 is next week. This starts Tuesday, after the holiday and runs through Friday. We will be making one pass through the city. Brush piles must be limited to the size of a pick-up bed. See the image below for what this looks like. Please keep piles out of the street and away from storm drains.

The work pertains to the project taking place at Home National Bank. The west side of CR 250 will be accessible for neighborhoods, homes, and churches along this part of town.

Upcoming Road Closure: W250 N / Anderson Road will be closed on September 8th and 9th on the west side of SR39. This is for utility work. Please follow the detour signs posted.
