The Boone County Health Department is looking for an Immunization Coordinator to join our team in Lebanon.

This full-time position plays an important role in coordinating the county’s immunization program, assisting with clinics and patient registration, maintaining immunization records, and helping provide vaccination education to the public. The position also works with public health nurses at off-site clinics and health fairs.

🗳️ Pigs, cakes, friends... and local democracy! 🐷🍰🧱

At the recent Boone County 4-H Fair, Circuit Court Clerk Lisa Bruder hosted a mock election that brought out 176 local voters of all ages to test out the machines, learn the process, and cast their ballots for their favorite fair foods, animals, and projects!

Boone County is looking for a skilled, dependable person to join our Facilities team as a Maintenance Technician.

This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining and repairing County buildings, grounds and equipment. The work includes everything from electrical, plumbing and carpentry to equipment maintenance, landscaping and snow removal.

🌧️ HEAVY RAIN AND HIGH WATER IN BOONE COUNTY

Heavy rain continues to fall across Boone County, and several roads are experiencing high water.

At this time, no countywide travel advisory has been declared and no roads are officially closed due to flooding. However, conditions can change quickly as additional rain falls.

🚗 If you encounter water covering a roadway:
• Turn around — don't drown.
• Never drive through standing or moving water.
• Do not drive around barricades or road-closure signs if they are placed.
• If water is rising or conditions appear unsafe, find an alternate route and move to higher ground.

Residents should allow extra time for travel, use caution on roads that may have standing water, and remain alert for changing conditions.

Boone County emergency management and local public safety agencies are monitoring conditions.

Please take high water seriously, even when a road has not been officially closed.

Additional information will be provided if conditions change.

⚠️ FLASH FLOOD WARNING — BOONE COUNTY

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Boone County until 4:15 p.m. today.

Heavy rainfall is occurring across the area, with flash flooding ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen, with another 1–2 inches possible.

Flooding is possible in low-lying areas, small creeks and streams, streets, highways, underpasses and areas with poor drainage.

Do not drive through flooded roadways or around barricades. Turn around, don’t drown.

Stay weather aware and be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding threatens your area.
