Camp Hope is here! 💙

Today marks the first day of Camp Hope at Ryan’s Place and a very special milestone as we welcome campers into our new Home for Healing Hearts for the very first time.

Over the next few days, children who have experienced the death of a loved one will find connection, understanding, and support alongside peers who truly “get it.” Through activities, creativity, conversation, and play, Camp Hope creates a safe space where children can share their experiences, express their feelings, and build lasting friendships.

Because of the generosity of our community, Camp Hope is offered at no cost to families. Thank you for helping ensure that no child grieves alone.

We can’t wait to see all the hope, healing, and memories that will be made

🌅 Camp Horizon 🌅

Ryan’s Place is offering a FREE two-day grief camp for teens ages 13–18 who are coping with the death of a person in their lives.

Through meaningful activities, connection with peers, and compassionate support, Camp Horizon provides a safe space for teens to heal, grow, and build resilience.

Registration is required by July 10 and space is limited.

Today, on Father’s Day, we hold space for all the emotions this day may bring.

At Ryan’s Place, we know Father’s Day can be a celebration for some and a reminder of grief for others. Today, we remember and honor fathers who have died, dads who are grieving, father figures who have made a difference, and every child, teen, and adult carrying a story connected to their dad.

Whether your memories bring smiles, tears, gratitude, longing, or a mix of emotions, know that all feelings are welcome.

Today, we remember the fathers who are no longer with us and the love that continues to live on through the lives they touched. 💙

Wrapping up our time at NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief symposium today. Grateful for the learning, the conversations, and the reminder that we are not alone in this work. Thankful for our Ryan’s Place team and the way we’ve been able to experience, learn, and grow together throughout these days. Heading back to Goshen with full hearts, new ideas, and a renewed commitment to the children, teens, and families we serve.

It is rare to have two organizations like ours located so close to one another, yet the need for grief support continues to grow. Every family, town, and city is touched by grief, and there can never be too many organizations committed to ensuring no one, especially a child, grieves alone.

Just a reminder that we will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17, and will reopen on Thursday.

🎤 Ryan’s Place Spotlight at the NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief Symposium.

Today, we are proud to celebrate our own Chris Seminario, Director of School Programs and Spanish Services, as she presents at the 2026 National Symposium on Children’s Grief in San Antonio, Texas.

Chris brings more than a decade of experience supporting youth and families, including her work leading school-based grief support groups, Spanish-speaking adult groups, and grief programming for youth in juvenile detention settings. Her presentation highlights practical, creative, and activity-based approaches that help grieving children and teens explore their feelings, build coping skills, and find connection.

At Ryan’s Place, we believe that sharing knowledge and best practices strengthens grief support for children and families everywhere. We are honored to have Chris representing our organization and our community on a national stage.

Day One is complete, and we’re leaving inspired. 💙

Today, our Ryan’s Place team, including development, programming, and executive leadership, spent the day learning alongside grief professionals from across the country at the NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief symposium.

There truly was something for everyone, with sessions that connected to all aspects of our work, from program design and direct service, to development strategy and organizational leadership.

We engaged in meaningful conversations, heard powerful stories, and explored new tools and approaches to better support children, teens, and families who are grieving the death of a loved one.

Each moment reinforced the importance of what we do: while grief is deeply personal, compassionate connection and intentional support can make a lasting difference.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and bring back ideas that will strengthen every layer of our organization.

We’ve arrived in San Antonio for the 2026 NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief symposium…grateful, energized, and ready to learn alongside colleagues from across the country who share a common commitment: supporting children, teens, and families who are grieving a death.

The National Symposium on Children’s Grief is more than a conference, it is a gathering of voices, research, lived experience, and best practices that shape how we show up for grieving children. It challenges us to grow in our understanding, deepen our compassion, and strengthen the ways we create safe spaces where healing can begin.

For our team at Ryan’s Place, this time is especially meaningful. Every session, conversation, and connection is an opportunity to bring back new ideas and renewed hope for the children and families we serve at home. It reminds us why this work matters…because no child should ever have to grieve alone.

We are honored to be here, to learn, and to continue building a community of care rooted in presence, compassion, and understanding.
