In honor of we wanted to share some of our local food insecurity statistics with you.

A new report from the Indiana Youth Institute shows that while child poverty has declined in parts of northern Indiana, more children are still going hungry. Statewide, the share of kids without consistent access to nutritious food rose from 12.9% to 18.2%, affecting about 285,000 children. In St. Joseph County, food insecurity climbed to 20.2%, and in Elkhart County it rose to 16.9%.

These numbers are a reminder that many local families still need strong community support to keep food on the table.

Neighbors like Paul help The Window be a place where people can experience dignity, safety, and purpose. Thank you, Paul, for sharing with us and inspiring others.
