For more than 33 years, Terrie Forrest has helped families find a place to call home. Now, she's bringing that passion and expertise to Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County as a member of our Board of Directors.

She serves on Habitat’s Family Services Committee and admires the hard work of the applicants who go through the application process, even before being accepted into the program.

Terrie and her husband have been married for more than 30 years and attend Crossroads Community Church with their 16-year-old son, Lucas. Their family also includes a lovable Goldendoodle named Chewy.

This summer, Habitat is honored to partner with Olive Mennonite Church and their "Under Construction" Vacation Bible School program!

Students have been learning about God's Blueprint for their lives, building on a Solid Foundation, and how to build their lives on Jesus. As part of this special partnership, Habitat delivered bundles of studs for use in future Habitat homes. Students had the opportunity to leave their mark by decorating the studs and praying over them.

These heartfelt notes and drawings will become part of the walls of a Habitat home, serving as a lasting reminder of God's love and our community's support.

Our CEO, Greg Conrad, visited VBS this week to share Habitat's mission and how safe, affordable housing helps build stronger families and communities.

Thank you, Olive Mennonite Church, for helping teach the next generation that when we build our lives on faith, hope, and love, we create foundations that last a lifetime. 🏠

Before becoming a Habitat family, La'Shombrie and her 4-year-old daughter lived in a small one-bedroom apartment where they shared a bed. But now, they have their own rooms and a backyard to play in! A huge thank you to the team from L&W Engineering for spending their Friday volunteering with Habitat! Their crew tackled several important projects at the Gary home, including painting, installing cabinets, and building closet shelving—bringing this future homeowner one step closer to move-in day.
