The Fire & Rescue Management Institute is a university certificate program designed for current leaders and supervisors within the fire service including company officers and chief officers, as well as those aspiring to an officer level position. Fire & Rescue professionals in managerial and supervisory roles are expected to be team leaders and must possess the ability to guide their staff in the

achievement of department, division, or unit goals. In today’s ever-changing work environment--workforce diversity, employee retention, the impact of sociological events, and the need for strategic planning--the demands placed upon those in a management role are many and increasingly more complex. The Fire & Rescue Management Institute was developed to address these needs through a comprehensive and content rich curriculum. Faculty for the Institute include national, regional, and local fire service leaders, university faculty from a range of disciplines including public administration, MBA, fire safety engineering technology, organizational psychology, and communication studies, as well as management and leadership specialists/consultants. 📣 Fire Officers: Participate in Doctoral Research Study 📣

We are sharing the following opportunity on behalf of a doctoral researcher studying fire officer training and leadership preparedness.

The study is examining the effectiveness of accredited fire officer training (IFSAC & ProBoard) and its relationship to a fire officer’s preparedness to lead firefighters.

Eligible participants must:
• Be a professional (paid/career) fire officer
• Have at least 1 year of experience
• Be located in the United States

Participation involves completing an anonymous online survey that takes approximately 30 minutes. Participation is voluntary, and consent information is provided on the first page of the survey.
