🧡SEPTEMBER is Hunger Action Month 🧡and we need your help! If you can, please consider hosting a SPREAD THE LOVE PEANUT BUTTER 🥜& JELLY Food / Fund Drive to help us stock up for the upcoming holiday season.

Peanut butter and jelly are distributed through both our child and senior hunger programs, and they are two of the most asked for items. We are also collecting for items without nuts for those with allergies.

After seeing this amazing memorial presented by the Firefighter Steven Coakley Foundation with the Charlotte Fire Department, Charlotte NC ❤ 🇺🇸honoring those who lost their lives 25 years ago on September 11th, we had to share as our way of honoring those lost.

For the 25th anniversary, two pillars of light will rise above the Uptown skyline from dusk until dawn on September 10 and 11, creating a visible symbol of remembrance and reflection that can be seen for miles.

Last week, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina launched "The Free Market" Emergency Student Food Pantry to combat campus hunger at Clinton College in Rock Hill, SC. This is a new initiative that was launched as a part of a multi-school program addressing collegiate food insecurity across York and Lancaster counties.

This pilot program will operate across four college campuses in York and Lancaster counties - York Technical College, Clinton College, USC Lancaster, and Winthrop University.

Food Lion Feeds💙, Food Lion's hunger-relief platform, is a sponsor of the pilot program and will help support three mobile food distributions and two pantry restocks at each school as part of their generous $100,000 donation to the new program.
