United in Jazz: A Message in the Music
Experience the unifying blend of percussions, wind instruments, and soft silky voices that rise from the heart and into the soul of the Charlotte community. United in Jazz, a new ministry at First United Presbyterian Church releases a spiritual harmony that permeates throughout the sanctuary, creating a special universal bond between all who hear. Welcome to the graceful blending of entertainment, education, and unique expression. It is the message of evangelical tribute that connects our spirits, and embraces our oneness through music. The initiation of this ministry is the understanding that through music, there is always a message. As a part of its one hundred and forty six year history when slaves joined together in this location to celebrate the Spirit of the Lord, First United Presbyterian Church has taken the lead in marrying cultural expressions. Today, the church is a reflection of recorded and unrecorded stories through the preservation of yesterday’s legacy, today’s promise, and tomorrow’s vision. United in Jazz ministry is designed to create open communication, promote aggressive spirituality, and provide vigorous fellowship that crescendos beyond each musical moment. All proceeds for United in Jazz will go to the Historic Preservation of First United Presbyterian Church.
